    Key Responsibilities

    As a Finance Clerk, you will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient management of financial documents and payroll systems. Your duties will include:

    • Document Management:
      • Filing and safeguarding financial documents such as payment batches and general journals.
      • Receiving documents from authorizers and maintaining a document control register.
      • Assisting Internal and External Audit and other officials with the retrieval of financial documentation.
      • Tracking and following up on documents.
      • Addressing all document control queries.

    Requirements

    To be eligible for this Finance Clerk position, candidates must meet the following qualifications and experience:

    Educational Qualifications

    • A Senior / Grade 12 Certificate or relevant qualification.

    Professional Experience

    • Six (6) months experience in document management will be an added advantage.

    Knowledge and Skills

    • Knowledge of managing payroll and financial systems applicable to government will be an added advantage.
    • Ability to interpret and implement financial management policies, processes, and systems.
    • Proficiency in using a personal computer and Microsoft packages such as MS Excel for basic arithmetic calculations.
    • Basic knowledge of PFMA and Treasury Regulations related to staff debt management.
    • Ability to follow a proactive and creative problem-solving approach.
    • Strong interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work under pressure.
