      • Acquire knowledge and skills required to perform duties within the designated trade of Instrument Mechanician.
      • Participate actively in the formal training program for the apprenticeship, ensuring reasonable progress towards achieving the necessary competencies.
      • Attend all required training sessions, assessments, and workshops related to the apprenticeship.
    2. Maintenance and Optimization of Plant Systems:
      • Assist with the maintenance, repair, and optimization of plant systems, including associated devices, under the supervision of qualified professionals.
      • Gain experience in the industrial installation of instrumentation circuits and equipment, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and according to specifications.
    3. Testing and Commissioning:
      • Participate in the testing and commissioning of new instrumentation equipment, Distributed Control Systems (DCS), and SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems.
      • Work closely with senior team members to ensure that all instrumentation systems are fully operational and meet safety standards.
    4. Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance:
      • Adhere to AECI’s health, safety, and environmental policies, ensuring that all work activities follow established procedures and regulations.
      • Proactively identify and correct any unsafe conditions or acts in the workplace to maintain a safe working environment.
      • Ensure the correct use of power tools, hand tools, and other equipment while following all safety guidelines.
    5. Record-Keeping:
      • Maintain a training logbook to track progress throughout the apprenticeship.
      • Present the logbook to the employer or training organization as required to demonstrate progress and completed assessments.
    6. Team Collaboration:
      • Work effectively within a team to complete maintenance tasks and achieve operational objectives.
      • Foster positive relationships with other apprentices, technicians, and management to ensure smooth workflow and knowledge sharing.
    7. Equipment and Instrumentation Handling:
      • Ensure proper installation, maintenance, and repair of instrumentation circuits and related equipment, using industry-standard techniques and tools.
