    Red Star, a leading player in South Africa’s food and beverage distribution industry, is hiring a skilled Sales Representative to serve the Cape Winelands and Route 62 region.     Based in the Western Cape, this position covers key towns from Stellenbosch and Paarl to Worcester and Barrydale. Preference will be given to applicants living within this region, as local insight and close proximity to clients are critical for effective relationship management.

    Key Responsibilities

    The successful candidate will be responsible for a wide range of sales-related duties, including:

    Sales & Business Development

    • Identify and acquire new business in the hospitality and catering sectors.
    • Grow and maintain existing customer accounts.
    • Promote new products, bulk deals, and seasonal offers.
    • Develop and implement strategies to exceed sales and margin targets.
    • Maintain consistent customer engagement through scheduled visits and follow-ups.

    Customer Relationship Management

    • Build strong connections with chefs, food & beverage managers, and business owners.
    • Conduct regular in-person meetings and product presentations.
    • Offer market insights and menu-related product suggestions.
    • Handle customer complaints and ensure high levels of satisfaction.

    Sales Performance & Reporting

    • Monitor daily, monthly, and year-to-date sales metrics.
    • Prepare and present reports on territory performance and customer trends.
    • Meet key performance indicators including revenue targets, new accounts, and customer retention.

    Product Knowledge & Market Insights

    • Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activity, and pricing.
    • Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams for order fulfilment.
    • Host product demonstrations and tastings.

    Order Management & Logistics Coordination

    • Monitor stock availability and suggest alternatives or special-order options.
    • Assist with credit management and ensure timely payments.

    Sales Representative Requirements

    Education

    • Essential: Senior Certificate (Matric).
    • Advantageous: Diploma or Degree in Sales, Marketing, Business, or Hospitality.

    Experience

    • 3-5 years B2B sales experience in the foodservice, hospitality, or catering industries.
    • Proven record of meeting or exceeding sales goals.
    • Valid driver’s license.
    • Willingness and ability to travel across the sales territory.
    • Experience in food and beverage distribution is a bonus.
