The Amazon Development Centre established the Amazon Bursary in 2018 to assist those from underprivileged backgrounds. The money that the Amazon Bursary provides to successful applicants will go towards paying for their tuition, housing, and other educational expenses. Successful candidates must also commit to finishing a paid summer internship with Amazon, where they will be evaluated for a full-time permanent Software Development Engineer (SDE) position that will begin after graduation. Motivated workers flourish at Amazon, where a culture of accountability and ownership produces significant outcomes.
