Who Can Apply?
To qualify for the MISA bursary, applicants must meet several criteria:
- Be South African citizens
- Be accepted into or currently studying an approved discipline at a public university, university of technology, or TVET college
- Have completed Grade 12
- Provide academic transcripts if already studying
- Submit a proof of registration or acceptance on an institution’s letterhead
- Provide a proof of residence
- Have a total household income of under R600,000 per year
- Submit parents’ or guardians’ payslips or proof of unemployment
- If already enrolled, submit a financial statement from their institution
In line with the government’s broader transformation agenda, preference will be given to applicants from rural areas, previously disadvantaged backgrounds, and those with disabilities.
