    Primary Role and Responsibilities

    Interns will be responsible for monitoring and managing asset procurement to ensure efficiency, compliance, and financial accountability within the City of Johannesburg. Key duties include:

    • Overseeing procurement of assets in various regions.
    • Ensuring a transparent and efficient system for procuring goods and services.
    • Maintaining accurate asset records in accordance with asset management control procedures.
    • Capturing and updating newly acquired assets in the SAP assets register.
    • Assisting in financial account management to support the department’s operations.
    • Reviewing and ensuring compliance with municipal financial control policies.
    • Managing asset claims to guarantee efficiency and accountability.
    • Identifying and reducing financial risks by implementing effective internal controls.
    • Coordinating special projects within the Group Finance Department.
