    The Export Credit Insurance Corporation of South Africa (ECIC) is inviting recent graduates to join their Graduate Trainee Programme in Procurement.     What Will You Learn?

    Throughout the programme, trainees will gain exposure to many important aspects of procurement, including:

    • Planning and Demand Management: Learning how to assess the needs of the business and plan procurement accordingly.
    • Acquisition Management: Understanding how to source and acquire goods and services efficiently.
    • Logistics Management: Managing the flow of goods and materials within the organisation.
    • Contract Management: Overseeing contracts from creation to execution to ensure terms are met.
    • Supplier Management: Building and maintaining positive relationships with suppliers.
    • Travel Management: Coordinating procurement related to business travel.
    • Record Management: Keeping accurate and compliant procurement records.
    • Compliance: Following policies, laws, and regulations that govern procurement practices.
    • Three Bid Committee System: Participating in the fair and transparent bidding process.

    The training covers all procurement processes ECIC uses — from petty cash spending, obtaining one or multiple written quotations, to competitive bidding and other procurement methods.

    Who Will You Work With?

    Trainees will interact with several key departments and professionals, such as:

    • The Finance Unit, to align procurement activities with financial controls.
    • Heads of various business units, fostering teamwork and collaboration.

    Who Should Apply?

    This programme is ideal for young South African graduates who meet the following criteria:

    • Hold a three-year post-matric qualification in Supply Chain Management or Finance.
    • Have no previous corporate work experience.
    • Are South African citizens and under 35 years old.
