The Municipal Finance Management Internship Programme (MFMIP) is designed to provide structured professional training and practical work experience in all aspects of a Municipal Budget and Treasury Office. This is in line with the Municipal Finance Management Act. The programme follows a logical training sequence that builds on the skills and competencies acquired during tertiary education.
It aims to culminate in credits or a qualification in Municipal Finance Management, in accordance with the Municipal Minimum Competency Regulations, Gazette 29967 of June 2007.
Requirements
- Educational Qualification: Applicants must hold one of the following:
- BComm degree in Financial Accounting or Economics
- N.Dip in Cost and Management Accounting
- N.Dip in Internal Auditing
- Age and Employment Status: Candidates must be between 21 and 35 years old and currently unemployed.
- Residency: Preference will be given to candidates residing within Tswelopele Local Municipality.
- Assessment: Shortlisted candidates may undergo a competency assessment.
