    Financial Internship Position Details

    • Remuneration: R96,000 – R120,000 per annum

    Requirements

    To be considered for this Financial Internship, candidates must meet the following criteria:

    • Educational Qualifications: Possession of at least a three-year Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma with major concentrations in Economics, Accounting, Finance, Internal Auditing, or Risk Management.
    • Courses Completed: Financial Accounting I, II, III; Auditing I; Mercantile Law I; Economics I; Business Economics I; Business Management I; Local Governance I.
    • Skills: Good written and verbal communication skills, computer literacy with practical experience, and proficiency in at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape.

    Functions and Responsibilities

    Interns will engage in a range of financial management activities, including:

    • General financial management in accordance with the Financial Management Act 56 of 2003 and other relevant legislation.
    • Expenditure management, income, and cash management.
    • Supply chain management.
    • Budget and treasury management.
    • Internal controls, auditing, and management.
    • Diverse financial responsibilities within the municipal sphere.
