Junior Social Media & Marketing Coordinator Role Overview and Responsibilities
The Junior Social Media & Marketing Coordinator will play a vital support role within the marketing team, helping to create compelling content, manage digital campaigns, and foster community engagement. This is a full-time junior position with a six-month probationary period. The working hours are Monday to Friday, from 08:00 to 16:00, with overtime as needed.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting with content creation such as video, photography, graphics, and reels across platforms including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and LinkedIn.
- Writing engaging social media posts, newsletters, blogs, and campaign materials.
- Supporting the execution of social media campaigns and marketing events.
- Scheduling and managing content using Meta Business Suite and other relevant tools.
- Monitoring and responding to community engagement across social platforms.
- Tracking analytics, generating reports, and suggesting data-driven improvements.
- Supporting paid advertising campaigns.
- Keeping up to date with social media trends, digital marketing best practices, and platform updates.
- Assisting with event planning and implementation.
- Helping run the Sponsor a Child project and attending related events.
- Taking minutes during meetings.

Requirements for Applicants

- Applicants must have a qualification or be currently studying in Marketing, Digital Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of social media platforms is essential, particularly Meta Business Suite (Facebook & Instagram), TikTok, YouTube, and LinkedIn.
- Experience or understanding of paid social media ads on Meta, LinkedIn, and YouTube is required.
- Basic design and video editing skills are necessary, with familiarity in tools such as Canva, Adobe Suite, or CapCut preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Afrikaans.
- A creative mindset with attention to detail and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Passion for storytelling, social media trends, and community engagement.
- Good health and the ability to work directly with young people.
- Sensitivity to the needs of traumatized children of all ages and genders.

- A clean disciplinary and criminal record.
- A valid driver’s license is compulsory.
- A valid Police Clearance certificate.
Preferred Bonus Skills
