The Department of Cooperative Governance has officially opened applications for 65 contract positions under its Community Work Programme (CWP) in Limpopo Province. These roles, aimed at bolstering service delivery and empowering local communities, are available on a 12-month non-renewable contract from 1 June 2025 to 31 May 2026.

Community Work Programme: Available Positions
The department is recruiting for various roles across Limpopo, including:
- Provincial Coordinator (1 position) – based in Polokwane
- District Coordinators (5 positions) – covering Capricorn, Mopani, Sekhukhune, Vhembe, and Waterberg districts
- MIS Administrator (1 position) – based at the COGHSTA Provincial Office in Polokwane
- Site Coordinators (27 positions) – distributed across municipalities within the province
- Site Administrators (30 positions)
- Technical Support Coordinator (1 position)
Key Responsibilities
Each role plays a vital part in ensuring the smooth operation and success of the Community Work Programme. Responsibilities range from overseeing programme implementation, managing staff and participants, monitoring participation targets, to ensuring compliance with audit and financial requirements.
For example:
- The Provincial Coordinator will be responsible for the overall management and reporting of CWP activities across Limpopo, ensuring alignment with departmental goals.
- District Coordinators will manage district-level operations, liaising with local stakeholders and ensuring site compliance.
- Site Coordinators and Administrators will handle daily site operations, participant records, and reporting.
- The MIS Administrator will manage the data systems, ensuring accurate capturing and processing of participant information.
- The Technical Support Coordinator will oversee procurement, asset management, and provide logistical support to project teams.
Requirements
Minimum qualifications for most positions include:
- Grade 12 (Matric) certificate
- A Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Social Sciences, Project Management, Finance, or equivalent (depending on the position)
- Valid Driver’s License (required for many roles)
- Relevant work experience, particularly in project coordination, administration, stakeholder engagement, and community programme management
- Computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office
For some administrative positions, prior experience is not mandatory but will be an added advantage.
