    The Nongoma Local Municipality in KwaZulu-Natal is seeking qualified candidates for two Financial Management internship positions in the Finance Department.     About the Financial Management internship

    The position offers a two-year fixed-term contract with a basic annual salary of R100,000. Successful candidates will gain valuable work experience in financial management across various aspects, including taxation, finance, and accounting.     Qualification Requirements

    Applicants for the Financial Management Intern position must meet specific educational criteria:

    1. A Grade 12 certificate.
    2. An NQF Level 6 qualification in accounting, taxation, finance, or management accounting. The qualification must include a major in accounting (with a focus on accounting 3).
    3. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    4. Proficiency in analytical tasks and computer literacy.
    5. Applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 35 years.

    Key Performance Areas

    As an intern, the primary responsibilities will include:

    • Gaining exposure to various areas of financial management.
    • Complying with financial management provisions in accordance with the Municipal Finance Management Act (MFMA).
    • Participating in the municipality’s learning and development program, which is aimed at equipping young professionals with the necessary skills for a successful career in public finance.
