The Role: Sales & Marketing Learnership
As a Sales & Marketing Learnership participant, the successful candidates will be tasked with implementing market-driven, differentiated services that aim to build sustainable competitiveness within the Tavern Class of Trade. The primary goal is to drive growth in brand equity, sales volume, market share, competitive advantage, and corporate reputation.
This learnership is focused on developing the skills and competencies needed to thrive in the competitive beverage industry. One of the key responsibilities of this position is to build and maintain strong relationships with tavern owners. The role will involve regular customer visits, managing customer sales and volume targets, and ensuring that the customer data is up to date. - AMPPS Delivery
Candidates will be responsible for delivering on the AMPPS survey, which focuses on Availability, Merchandising, Price, Promotions, and Space. This includes monitoring stock levels, ensuring brand availability, and executing promotional campaigns as planned. - Asset Management
Managing SAB refrigeration assets and ensuring compliance with company guidelines is also part of the role. Candidates will need to track and maintain stock rotation to ensure product quality and availability.
Key Responsibilities
The Sales & Marketing Learnership participants will be responsible for:
- Merchandising, Price, Promotions, and Space
Candidates will monitor stock volumes by outlet and ensure the 100% availability of key brands and packs. They will be responsible for executing merchandising strategies and ensuring that pricing, promotional campaigns, and product placements align with SAB’s standards. - Customer Relationship Management
Building and maintaining productive customer relationships with tavern owners will be a primary focus. The role will involve managing customer data, achieving sales and volume targets, and ensuring customers purchase directly from SAB. - Asset Management and Stock Control
The candidates will ensure that SAB products are stocked according to the company’s guidelines and monitor asset usage, including refrigeration units and other merchandising materials. - Planning and Reporting
Effective planning will be essential for ensuring that all customer needs are met, and sales targets are exceeded. Reporting and documentation will be part of the job, ensuring that all customer data is accurately captured and updated.
Minimum Requirements
To qualify for this learnership, candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:
- A diploma or degree is required.
- A valid, unendorsed Code 8 driver’s license is essential.
- Basic computer literacy with experience in Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of the local area is necessary for successful engagement with customers.
- Ability to work in a flexible working environment, including weekends and public holidays, is expected.
- Successful completion of a driver’s assessment test prior to appointment.
