Data Analyst Internship Job Description
During the Data Analyst Internship, you will play a crucial role in assisting business teams and management in developing and implementing operational metrics, dashboards, and reporting. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Key Responsibilities:
- Assist business teams and management with the development and implementation of operational metrics, dashboards, and reporting.
- Use visualization tools to understand and manipulate complex datasets in a simple and intuitive format to rapidly generate impactful, interactive visualizations.
- Provide and support ad-hoc reporting services for non-standard issues and analyses.
- Continually evaluate, develop, and implement new, meaningful methods for data analysis to inform the business teams about its performance.
- Analyze historical figures to identify trends and help define strategies.
- Develop and work with prediction models.
- Extract, transform, and load data from an extremely wide field of data sources into staging datasets and ultimately into visualization tools.
- Qualification and Experience:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in a related field of study (Computer Science, Informatics, Statistics, Mathematics, Accountancy, etc.).
- Storytelling ability through visual presentations and dashboards.
- Ability to create data models to bring together datasets from multiple disparate systems in order to support data analysis.
- Ability to analyze large datasets.
- The ability to communicate complex concepts in a clear and concise manner to audiences from staff to senior executive level.
- Familiarity with data warehousing architecture and processes.
- An analytical mind and inclination for problem-solving.
- Experience with visualization tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, QlikView, and/or Pyramid.
- Data manipulation/wrangling skills (SQL and NoSQL technologies, such as KNIME or SSIS).
- Experience delivering prescriptive and predictive analytics.
- Expertise in R and Python is advantageous.
