    Port Shepstone High School are now looking to strengthen their finance team by offering a rare opportunity to a skilled and committed individual. The school invites applications for the role of Admin Clerk/Cashier under the School Governing Body Post (Reference no: AC01).

    About the Role

    The successful candidate will join the school’s Finance Department, contributing to the efficient handling of school finances, cashier operations, and administrative tasks.     Minimum Requirements

    Applicants must meet the following criteria to be considered:

    • Valid Police Clearance Certificate
    • Matric Certificate and an NQF 4 qualification in Accounting & Finance
    • At least 3 years’ experience in a related field
    • Bilingual ability is an added advantage
    • Prior experience as a cashier and stock controller
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Pastel software
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Excellent communication and time management abilities
    • Ability to handle tasks meticulously and independently
    • Willingness to work after hours or on weekends when necessary
    • Capacity to maintain confidentiality and integrity

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    The Admin Clerk/Cashier will:

    • Process and reconcile all financial transactions
    • Maintain accurate cashier reports and ensure proper float handling
    • Update and manage asset registers
    • Assist with school fee payment reconciliations
    • Conduct monthly and weekly consumable stock counts
    • Support the finance team with:
      • Phone calls
      • Greeting visitors
      • Sorting mail
      • General admin tasks

    In addition, the person must:

    • Handle pressure well in a fast-paced environment
    • Follow school policies and procedures
    • Pay strong attention to detail and accuracy
    • Be self-motivated and well-organised
