    Sales Representative Position Summary

    The B2B Sales Representative role is crucial in managing and developing relationships with key accounts, particularly in the manufacturing and industrial sectors. The successful candidate will report to the National Sales Manager for Powder Products and will be responsible for a wide range of sales activities, including customer visits, pricing negotiations, and new business development.

    This role requires a candidate with a solid understanding of the B2B market, particularly within the commodity sales space. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of experience dealing with large industrial customers at the head office or buyer level.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Account Management: Manage and develop relationships with key customer accounts, ensuring customer satisfaction and long-term partnerships.
    • Sales Target Achievement: Work towards achieving and exceeding sales budgets.
    • Customer Engagement: Conduct regular visits to customer branches and head offices to maintain strong relationships and gather market insights.
    • New Business Development: Engage in cold calling and prospecting for new customers, expanding the company’s market reach.
    • Marketing Support: Assist with marketing activities, including identifying advertising opportunities and participating in trade shows.
    • Pricing Negotiation: Negotiate prices with head office buyers and direct customers to secure profitable sales agreements.
    • Order Management: Coordinate with the Johannesburg depot to ensure timely order processing and delivery in line with the company’s order/delivery cycle.
    • Payment Follow-up: Ensure timely payment from customers and address any issues that may arise.
    • Market Intelligence: Keep the business informed about market trends, competitor activities, and other relevant developments.
    • Travel Requirements: Regular travel to various provinces to meet with customers and manage regional relationships.
    • Self-Motivation: Be a self-starter with the ability to work independently and contribute to the company’s growth.

    Requirements

    • Education: Grade 12 is required, with a relevant post-matric qualification being advantageous.
    • Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience in a sales environment, particularly in commodity products (preferably dairy commodities).
    • Skills: Strong sales and negotiation skills, with proven experience in relationship management and development.
    • Technical Knowledge: Understanding of logistics and transport negotiations is beneficial.
    • Software Proficiency: Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
    • Driver’s License: A valid driver’s license is essential, along with a willingness to travel extensively.
