Bookkeeper Position Overview
The Bookkeeper at Mercurius Motors Tzaneen plays a crucial role in managing and maintaining financial records in alignment with company policies and regulations. Key Responsibilities
Financial Processing and Reporting
- Maintain accurate financial records and report on work activities to ensure informed decision-making.
- Plan, administer, and process financial and bookkeeping tasks effectively and efficiently.
- Accurately record expenses within the allocated financial period.
- Reconcile accounts and bank transactions to ensure accuracy and resolve outstanding transactions.
- Generate financial reports and submit relevant information to the direct superior.
- Ensure compliance with internal financial control policies and corporate governance standards.
Accounts and Reconciliations
- Process debtors’ invoices and collections in a timely and accurate manner.
- Handle creditors’ invoices and payments, ensuring precise recording and payment processing.
- Manage cashbook transactions and conduct bank reconciliations efficiently.
- Oversee petty cash transactions, ensuring accuracy and accountability.
- Complete all month-end financial processes within the required deadlines.
Process and Governance Compliance
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and service level agreements.
- Identify and resolve operational challenges related to financial processes.
- Provide support to ensure the financial transactions are aligned with compliance regulations.
- Maintain documentation and store financial information appropriately for auditing purposes.
Customer and Business Support
- Deliver services that meet or exceed customer expectations.
- Participate in training and learning initiatives to enhance financial skills.
- Offer training and support to employees on financial systems and compliance procedures.

Minimum Requirements
Candidates interested in this position must meet the following qualifications and experience requirements:
Educational Qualifications
- Matric certificate with Accounting and Mathematics.
- A Diploma in Accounting or Bookkeeping or a relevant financial qualification.
Work Experience
- A minimum of two years of bookkeeping experience within the automotive industry, specifically in a dealership environment.
- Experience with Keyloop financial systems will be advantageous.
