Cash Book Administrator Job Overview
Virgin Active’s Finance division is seeking a professional who can handle daily cash book responsibilities, provide banking administration support, and assist with payment processing and club support. This role is perfect for someone with 2-3 years of experience in a similar finance position and a keen eye for detail.
Key Responsibilities:
Cash Book Administration:
- Process daily bank transactions and reconcile all bank accounts.
- Investigate and allocate unknown receipts in banking suspense accounts.
- Perform cash book period-end procedures and prepare journals.
- Fulfill supplier bank verification requests from procurement.
Payment Processing:
- Load payment batches and approved beneficiaries across banking platforms within specified timeframes.
- Ensure payment requests are approved according to authority and processed before cut-off times.
Club & Member Support:
- Investigate and allocate unknown receipts in member deposit accounts.
- Handle treasury service tickets and queries within agreed SLA timelines.
Banking Administration Support:
- Support the Cash Book Specialist with necessary documentation for banks and service providers.
- Daily handling of debit order disputes and liaising with partner banks.
System-Related Tasks:
- Troubleshoot and proactively escalate system issues to IT.
- Provide input on system development projects.
Reporting & Audit Support:
- Maintain open communication and regular reporting on cash book issues.
- Assist with audit requests and provide data for cash flow reporting and forecasting.
Minimum Requirements:
- Matric certificate with Accountancy as a subject.
- 2-3 years of experience in a similar finance role.
- Proven experience with finance systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics) and online banking platforms.
- Strong analytical abilities, meticulous attention to detail, and efficient problem-solving skills.
