Job Description
The primary purpose of the Cook at Wood Drive KWIKSPAR is to manufacture fresh foods to quality standards according to the Kitchen Supervisors’ production plans.
Minimum Requirements
- Education: Matric / NQF level 4 equivalent.
- Experience: At least 3 years of cooking experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement Production Plans: Follow and implement production plans to ensure timely preparation of meals.
- Control Ingredients: Manage and control ingredients to ensure freshness and availability.
- Control Stock: Monitor stock levels and reorder supplies as necessary.
- Hygiene & Housekeeping: Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen.
- Customer Service: Ensure customer satisfaction by preparing and presenting food of the highest quality.
Knowledge
- Product Knowledge: Understanding of different food products and ingredients.
- Production Chain: Knowledge of the production process from preparation to final presentation.
- Cold Chain: Understanding of cold chain management to ensure food safety.
- Manufacturing Process: Familiarity with food manufacturing processes and standards.
- Equipment Handling: Ability to handle and maintain kitchen equipment properly.
- Safety: Awareness of kitchen safety protocols.
- Industry Trends: Keeping up to date with current trends in the food industry.
