    Customer Services Consultant Job Description

    The Customer Services Consultant role is central to ensuring high-quality customer service within the organization. You will handle a variety of inquiries, both domestic and international, and play a critical part in ensuring that customers’ needs are met in a timely and efficient manner. This position is ideal for someone who is organized, enjoys engaging with people, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    As a Customer Services Consultant, your daily duties will include:

    • Managing Incoming Calls: Answering all incoming calls in accordance with the company’s standard operating procedures.
    • Handling Enquiries: Responding to queries via telephone, fax, or email, and providing accurate information about products and services.
    • Order Processing: Processing telephonic orders, ensuring all necessary details are captured correctly.
    • Domestic and International Orders: Following up on both local and international orders, ensuring prompt delivery.
    • Coordination with Departments: Liaising with other departments to ensure customer requests are addressed efficiently.
    • Administrative Duties: Performing general administrative tasks, such as data entry and record-keeping.
    • Switchboard Relief: Assisting with switchboard duties when required.
    • Service Level Targets: Meeting or exceeding service level targets as stipulated in the Key Performance Areas (KPAs).

    Requirements and Experience

    To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

    • Education: Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
    • Experience: At least two to three years’ experience in customer services. Previous experience in the publishing industry and familiarity with Book Master software would be advantageous.
    • Skills:
      • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
      • Good listening skills to effectively understand and address customer concerns.
      • Ability to foster positive relationships with customers and colleagues.
      • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and administrative skills.
      • Computer literacy is essential, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
      • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
