    Job Description

    As a Data Capturer, the selected candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all data collected at both facility and community levels meet strict quality standards. The focus will be on various data quality dimensions, such as validity, accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.

    Regular assessments of data quality (Routine Data Quality Assessment or data quality audits) will be conducted, and the candidate will collaborate with M&E officers, quality improvement advisors, and district health information managers to deliver technical support.

    Technical Responsibilities

    The Data Capturer will engage in multiple activities to enhance data quality and ensure accurate records. Responsibilities include:

    • Strengthening National Health Information Systems: Provide capacity-building support for existing health information systems, including EDR Web, TIER.Net, DHIS, and HPRS, to improve data visibility and program efficacy.
    • Onsite Data Verifications (OSDV): Conduct onsite data verification to maintain data integrity.
    • Data Management Assistance: Assist in managing data capturing backlogs and support the filing system.
    • Feedback on Data Quality: Review data extracts, provide feedback, and support facilities in maintaining high data quality standards.
    • Support and Training: Participate in data quality assurance by offering technical support, conducting facility-level supervision, and performing capacity-building exercises for staff.
    • Quality Improvement Projects: Take part in projects aimed at enhancing data quality and participate in district-level meetings to provide technical insights and support.

    Educational Qualifications

    • Minimum: Grade 12.
    • Advantageous: Post-matric diploma or degree, especially with exposure to HIV/AIDS and TB prevention programs.

    Work Experience

    • At least two years of experience in data capturing, particularly within health-related electronic databases.
    • Proven experience in data management and verification.

    Skills and Competencies

    • Strong computer literacy, including proficiency in MS Office and health-related databases.
    • High attention to detail and an ability to work quickly and accurately.
    • Ability to meet deadlines and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
    • Team player with excellent interpersonal skills, comfortable working in a multicultural setting.
