Key Responsibilities
The appointed Finance Clerks will play a vital role in ensuring the college’s financial systems run smoothly. Their main responsibilities will include:
- Capturing financial data accurately into the college’s systems.
- Maintaining current and accurate records for all receivables and payables.
- Creating a well-organized filing system for invoices, receipts, and payment documents.
- Working closely with finance, procurement, and registrar departments to ensure effective and timely financial processes.
- Providing necessary support and documentation during internal and external audits.
This position requires individuals who are detail-oriented and able to follow systematic procedures when handling financial data.
Minimum Requirements
Candidates interested in the Finance Clerk role must meet the following criteria:
- Hold a Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification.
- Possess a National Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Financial Management, Accounting, or a similar field.
- Have at least one year of experience in a finance or accounting-related environment.
Applicants must also demonstrate basic knowledge of public finance legislation and treasury regulations such as PFMA, GRAP, and CET Act 16 of 2006. Additionally, basic computer skills and the ability to work with data are essential.
Skills and Competencies
