A reputable opportunity is currently available for two individuals to join the Gfleet team as General Assistants. This position, based in Bedfordview, offers a chance to contribute to the daily operations of the corporate services and facilities management division.

Key Responsibilities
The General Assistant will be responsible for a variety of duties that support the overall function of the facilities and security team. The primary tasks and duties for this position include the following:
- Movement of Furniture and Equipment:
- The General Assistant will be responsible for ensuring the safe movement of office equipment and furniture.
- This will involve obtaining a fully completed and approved Asset Movement Form and Job Card, then moving the equipment and furniture using appropriate trolleys and protective materials.
- In addition, the role involves assisting with setting up venues for events hosted by the department.
- Proactive Maintenance of Areas and Assets:
- The position involves conducting minor maintenance duties on a daily basis, including preventative maintenance of facilities.
- The General Assistant will be required to record these activities on prescribed forms, ensuring that the work is documented for future reference.
- Responsibilities also include gathering full rubbish or waste bins for collection by the Ekurhuleni Municipality as per the scheduled dates.
- Reporting Defects and Faults:
- The General Assistant will conduct daily inspections of facilities to identify defects or faults.
- Completed inspection sheets must be submitted to the Facilities Help Desk to coordinate the necessary maintenance activities.
- A job card must be obtained to ensure the timely repair of any identified issues.
- Monitoring of Garden and Cleaning Services:
- The role also includes monitoring the cleanliness and upkeep of the premises, including garden maintenance.
- The General Assistant will ensure that service providers performing cleaning duties adhere to their responsibilities and meet the expected standards.
- Compliance with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS):
- An important aspect of the role involves ensuring strict adherence to the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) policy and regulations when performing duties.
- This includes maintaining a safe and clean environment for all staff and visitors within the facilities.
Required Qualifications and Skills
