Health Merchandiser Job Description
As a Health Merchandiser at Dis-Chem Vaal Mall, your primary responsibility is to ensure that the store’s merchandising standards are consistently met and maintained. This involves restocking shelves, managing inventory, and providing top-notch customer service. You will play a crucial role in enhancing the shopping experience for our customers by ensuring that products are well-presented and readily available.
Key Responsibilities
- Restock merchandise according to business needs.
- Store and pack delivered stock/stock pulled from the storeroom in the correct locations.
- Ensure a full range of products is on the shelves at all times.
- Facilitate stock rotation on a First In First Out basis.
- Assist with general stocktaking and inventory management.
- Keep front shop shelves and products neat, visible, and correctly labelled with accurate pricing.
- Build, face up, stock, and maintain merchandising displays.
- Maintain the physical upkeep of the store and merchandise displays.
- Handle designated stock in both the storeroom and shop floor.
- Assist with back shopping as needed.
- Address and resolve customer stock queries effectively.
Minimum Requirements
Essential:
- Grade 12 / Matric certificate.
- Up to 6 months of retail experience.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Willingness to work retail hours.
Advantageous:
- Diploma or degree in a Health Focus category.
- At least 1 year of retail experience.
Competencies
Essential:
- Strong command of the English language.
- Presentable appearance.
- Effective engagement with customers, management, and staff.
- Trustworthy and honest.
- Good time management skills.
Advantageous:
- Bilingual capabilities.
- Knowledge of merchandising standards and the FMCG industry.
- Product and category knowledge.
- Ability to analyze ZMORE reports for ordering and stock-taking.
- Ability to report bad/suspicious behavior relating to both staff and customers.
- Knowledge of SAP and Unisolv systems.
Special Conditions of Employment
- Willing and able to work retail hours.
- Physically fit to lift and move heavy boxes, adhering to health and safety standards.
- Reliable transport or residence in close proximity to the store.
- South African citizen.
