    Exxaro, one of South Africa’s leading coal mining companies, is inviting applications for the position of HR Practitioner in People and Performance at their Leeuwpan Coal operation in Delmas, Mpumalanga. This is a permanent position, and the ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting line management with personnel cost planning, recruitment, selection, employee performance management, and other key human resource functions.

    Purpose of the Role

    The primary purpose of the HR Practitioner, People and Performance role is to support line management in various HR functions including:

    • Personnel cost planning
    • Recruitment and selection
    • Employee performance management
    • Employee development and mediation
    • Employment equity and diversity management
    • Quality assurance of master data and related reports

    Minimum Requirements

    Qualifications

    • Essential: National Diploma in Human Resources Management, Certificate in Basic Management Program
    • Recommended/Desirable: Certificate in Labour Relations Development Program, Certificate in First Line Management, Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field

    Experience

    • 3-5 years of relevant experience in general people and performance operations, systems, employee relations, and recruitment and selection

    Requirements

    • Psychometric Assessment
    • Certificate of Fitness
    • Competence in SAP Position Specific Module
    • Competence in MS Office Relevant Package

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    Administration and Document Control

    • Conduct quality checks on employee documentation
    • Ensure accurate data capture
    • Ensure information availability for client feedback and reporting
    • Ensure all relevant information is available for capturing

    Audit Management

    • Conduct quality assurance on employee data in SAP
    • Ensure accurate data capture as per Employee Lifecycle Services (ELS) process
    • Correct and file deviations/findings in SAP

    Compliance, Governance, and Assurance

    • Execute responsibilities following guidelines and standards of People and Performance services
    • Comply with P&P service delivery metrics, standards, and guidelines
    • Ensure adherence to applicable policies, procedures, and statutory laws
    • Report discrepancies or unlawful practices to the manager
    • Apply ethical principles in P&P data processing

    Customer, Stakeholder, and Client Relationship Management

    • Understand key business drivers and interrelationships between functions
    • Maintain relationships with internal and external customers
    • Address customer requests, complaints, needs, and challenges
    • Implement a customer-centric approach in delivering quality P&P services
    • Collaborate with business partners for integrated people solutions

    Employee Relations

    • Support and advise line management in disciplinary and grievance hearings
    • Support employment equity, diversity, and organisational development initiatives
    • Facilitate the Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) referral process
    • Manage medical incapacity cases professionally
    • Liaise with retirement and pension funds for documentation compliance

    Internal Business Processes

    • Assist line management with personnel cost planning and budget presentations
    • Recommend and incorporate cost-saving initiatives into manpower budgets
    • Generate and complete Quality Assurance (QA) management reports
    • Maintain the quality of P&P master data
    • Handle personnel admin and employee lifecycle management transactions
    • Assist line managers with talent and learning management initiatives
    • Support the implementation of P&P infrastructure

    Medical Scheme and Pension Fund Administration

    • Ensure all employees belong to a pension and medical aid
    • Liaise with pension and medical aids for employee amendments

    Recruitment Support

    • Assist with end-to-end recruitment processes
    • Manage recruitment and selection within the area of responsibility
    • Prepare and complete management reports and analysis
    • Ensure adherence to recruitment policies and Employment Equity (EE) alignment
    • Ensure data integrity of all relevant documents
