Ivanhoe Mines is currently seeking an HRD Training Officer to join their team in Mokopane, Limpopo. This is a permanent, mid-senior level position within the Human Resources department.     Key Responsibilities

    The HRD Training Officer will have the following duties:

    1. Workforce and Succession Planning: The officer will contribute to the workforce planning by identifying the training needs of employees and developing programs that align with the company’s strategic goals.
    2. Support for Line Management: They will assist line managers in identifying training requirements for employees in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Mandatory Codes of Practice (MCOPs), ensuring competence for specific roles.
    3. Operational Mining Skills Development: Developing operational mining skills for employees is key. The officer will ensure that training is conducted to promote competency in underground mining operations.
    4. Disciplinary Compliance: Ensuring fair and consistent application of disciplinary measures within the area of responsibility will be a priority, promoting a culture of fairness and accountability.
    5. Training Resource Management: The officer will manage training resources, ensure compliance with industry best practices, and deliver generic induction training to new employees.
    6. Corporate Governance: They will uphold corporate governance and ensure that company policies and procedures are consistently applied.
    7. Workplace Relations: Initiating activities that boost morale, improve workplace relationships, and increase productivity will be part of the role.
    8. Policy Interpretation: The officer will interpret and provide guidance on human resources policies and procedures, ensuring employees and management understand and adhere to company regulations.

    What You Need to Qualify

    To be considered for this role, candidates need to meet the following minimum qualifications and skills:

    • Grade 12 or equivalent academic qualification.
    • ETDP Level 3/4 certification and Registered Assessor qualifications.
    • Code 8 driver’s license.
    • Proficiency and experience in working with Trackless Mobile Machinery (TMM).
    • Strong supervisory skills and experience in interpreting operational requirements.
    • Competence in computer literacy with knowledge of MS Office packages.
    • Experience in managing internal disciplinary processes.
    • At least five years’ experience in a Human Resources Development (HRD) mining environment, with at least two years in a TMM operator management role.
