    Key Responsibilities:

    • Market Growth: Increase market share in Public Administration, Medical and Nursing, Communication, Natural Science, and IT by:
      • Securing new adoptions of Van Schaik’s books at Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) across South Africa.
      • Maintaining and nurturing existing adoptions at HEIs.
      • Identifying and pursuing new sales and adoption opportunities.
      • Conducting market research and reporting findings to relevant team members.
    • Relationship Management:
      • Develop and maintain strong relationships with prescribing lecturers and decision-makers.
      • Attend and represent Van Schaik Publishers at sector conferences and exhibitions.
    • Sales Performance:
      • Achieve and exceed sales targets.
      • Stay updated on industry trends, customer needs, and competitor activities.
    • Reporting and Planning:
      • Provide regular feedback on sales strategies, opportunities, and challenges.
      • Participate in ongoing sales planning and strategy reviews.

    Qualifications and Skills:

    • Education: Relevant tertiary qualification.
    • Experience: At least three years of experience in academic sales.
    • Travel: Willingness to travel nationally.
    • Licenses: Valid Code 8 driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.
    • Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office; experience with Bookmaster is a plus.
    • Communication: Superior interpersonal and English communication skills.
    • Organizational Skills: Strong administrative skills and ability to manage competing demands.
    • Personal Traits: Self-motivated, energetic, resilient, and persuasive with a strong customer service orientation.
