Job Purpose
The primary purpose of the Pool Attendant role is to perform various manual tasks and duties in line with the municipality’s policies and procedures. The role focuses on delivering effective and efficient maintenance services to public swimming pool facilities across the eThekwini Municipal area.
Key Responsibilities
- Daily Preparation and Maintenance:
- Prepare for daily tasks by ensuring all necessary tools, equipment, and materials are collected, in good working condition, and returned to storage after each shift.
- Perform manual duties required to maintain the swimming pool, change rooms, buildings, and surrounding areas.
- Public Interaction:
- Assist members of the public with minor complaints and queries, adhering to the principles of Batho Pele.
- Refer more complex issues to the Pool Supervisor.
- Safety Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Act regulations at all times.
