    Receiving Clerk Job Purpose

    As a Receiving Clerk at Brights Hardware, you will be responsible for ensuring that stock is accurately received and dispatched according to supplier invoices. You’ll play a crucial role in keeping the receiving department organized, secure, and efficient.     Key Responsibilities

    • Enforce Company Policy & Procedures: Ensure adherence to Brights Hardware’s protocols and systems to streamline stock management.
    • Accurate Stock Handling: Verify that stock is received or dispatched according to supplier invoices and system entries.
    • Maintain Department Presence: Ensure the receiving department is always attended to and that all deliveries are properly processed.
    • Organize Deliveries: Correctly manage stock received within the store, placing it in the delivery cage and booking it out to the appropriate driver.
    • Stock Security: Thoroughly check bins, boxes, and other containers for stock before disposal to avoid losses.
    • Facilitate Stock Dispatch: Coordinate stock despatch to the relevant departments and ensure the proper paper trail is completed for returned items.
    • Support Other Departments: Provide assistance in other departments when necessary.
    • Label Printing: Print and attach relevant labels to stock for organized dispatching.
    • Scanning & Documentation: Ensure that every item is scanned and recorded before being sent to different store departments.
    • Spot Checks: Conduct daily spot checks to monitor for any suspicious activities around the store.
    • Housekeeping: Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the receiving department at all times.
    • Stock Takes: Participate in regular stock-taking activities to ensure inventory accuracy.

    Minimum Requirements

    • Matric or Equivalent: A foundational requirement for the role.
