Job Description:
As the Receptionist, you will be the welcoming face and voice of Glenstantia Primary School, ensuring smooth communication and coordination within the school community. Your role will be pivotal in maintaining an organized and professional front office environment. You’ll handle a variety of administrative tasks, engage with parents, staff, and learners, and contribute to the overall efficiency of school operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the first point of contact for visitors, parents, and learners, ensuring a friendly and welcoming environment.
- Manage incoming calls, emails, and correspondence, providing accurate information and directing inquiries to the appropriate staff members.
- Perform a range of administrative duties, including filing, record-keeping, and data entry.
- Assist in the organization and preparation of school events, meetings, and functions.
- Maintain a neat and orderly reception area that reflects the school’s professional standards.
- Support the administration team in various tasks as required, ensuring effective communication and collaboration within the school.
Minimum Requirements:
- Matric (Grade 12) certificate.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in a similar role, preferably in a school setting.
- Prior experience as a receptionist is a definite advantage.
- Strong administrative and organizational skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Advanced proficiency in English, with excellent telephone etiquette and communication skills.
- A friendly and warm disposition, able to handle multiple tasks under pressure.
- Must have own transport and be willing to participate in school functions and special events.
- Knowledge of Injury on Duty (IOD) administration and a First Aid qualification would be beneficial.
- Familiarity with South African School Administration and Management System (SA-SAMS) is an advantage.
