    Job Purpose

    • Main Objective: Resolve incidents involving applications and related equipment, assist users in effectively utilizing systems, and support service delivery functions such as computer operations and the service desk.
    • Support Tasks: Includes investigating, identifying, analyzing, and resolving problems, providing information about systems, and escalating unresolved issues.

    Key Performance Areas

    1. Desktop Support:
      • Request Handling: Evaluate, prioritize, and respond to user requests for assistance.
      • Incident Management: Log and track calls using the incident and problem management database.
      • Problem Resolution: Address routine user problems and escalate complex issues to Senior ICT Support.
    2. Software and Hardware Installations:
      • Setup: Install desktop and laptop computers with authorized software, and complete related documentation.
      • Hardware Installation: Install and set up hardware components like monitors, keyboards, and printers.
      • Boardroom Support: Set up and support boardroom and training equipment.
      • Testing: Regularly test and fix issues with video conferencing and IT equipment.
    3. Information Technology Administrative Functions:
      • Vendor Liaison: Coordinate with service providers for IT equipment and maintenance.
      • Asset Management: Update and manage the hardware and software asset register and handle asset disposal.
      • Licensing: Administer software licenses.
      • Maintenance: Keep the IT storeroom, server room, and office organized and free from health and safety risks.
      • Training: Train and orient staff on hardware and software use.

    Requirements:

    • Qualifications:
      • Higher Certificate / Occupational Certificate Level 5 (NQF Level 5) or A+ / N+
      • Advanced Certificate / Diploma / Occupational Certificate Level 6 (NQF Level 6) in CCNA1 / MCSE / MCTIP
