Kruger National Park, one of South Africa’s most iconic and expansive wildlife reserves, is currently offering internship programme opportunities to South African graduates. The South African National Parks (SANParks) is inviting applications from graduates who have completed their National Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree, Honours, or Masters (NQF 6 – NQF 9) at a South African Higher Education Institution (HEI) to participate in an internship for a duration of 24 months.
The successful candidates will gain hands-on experience in various fields, helping them develop their careers while contributing to the conservation and tourism goals of SANParks.
Internship Programme Details
The internship programme is designed to offer young graduates the opportunity to learn and grow within a renowned national park while earning a monthly stipend. The positions are available across several departments, with a stipend ranging from R6 355.69 to R10 486.58 per month, depending on the qualification level of the candidate. Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the SANParks Internship Programme, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Age: Candidates must be between 18 and 35 years old.
- South African Citizenship: Only South African citizens are eligible to apply.
- Qualification: Applicants must have completed a National Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree, Honours, or Masters (NQF 6 – NQF 9) in a relevant field from a South African public higher education institution.
- Unemployment Status: Applicants must be unemployed and must not have previously participated in an internship or placement programme.
Stipend and Accommodation
The internship provides a monthly stipend between R6 355.69 and R10 486.58 depending on the level of qualification. However, it is important to note that candidates wishing to apply for the internship outside their area of residence will need to find their own accommodation and transportation, as SANParks may not provide assistance in this regard. That said, SANParks reserves the right to offer accommodation within the National Park, subject to availability.

Additional Information
Foreign qualifications must be evaluated by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA), and all appointments for internships are subject to verification and a pre-screening process. Manual applications will not be accepted, and SANParks reserves the right not to make any appointments.
