Truck Driver Training Specialist Job Description
In this role, you will report directly to the Technical Training Supervisor, becoming an integral part of the technical department. The position focuses on delivering comprehensive training programs to Air Products drivers and external customers, ensuring that high standards of safety, compliance, and operational excellence are maintained across the board.
Key Responsibilities
As a Truck Driver Training Specialist, your primary duties will include:
- Curriculum Development and Delivery:
- Administer and maintain both paper-based and eLearning driver curriculum training systems.
- Conduct classroom and hands-on practical training sessions for drivers and operators.
- Compliance and Quality Assurance:
- Ensure strict adherence to Air Products’ Technical Training Procedures and global standards.
- Maintain and update training records in both electronic and physical formats.
- Support and Collaboration:
- Provide technical training support for the Bulk Distribution team.
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives and Best Safety Practices (BSP).
- Administrative Duties:
- Keep detailed training plans, schedules, and assessments up to date.
- Use MS Office tools to manage and report training progress effectively.
Minimum Requirements
To qualify for this opportunity, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Education:
- Matric (Grade 12) qualification is essential.
- A formal training qualification is advantageous.
- Driver training Assessor and Moderator qualifications are desirable.
- Experience:
- 5-8 years as a Technical Trainer/Truck Driver Trainer in the gas, manufacturing, or petrochemical industries.
- Minimum 3-5 years of relevant industry experience.
- Experience with cryogenic, CO2, or packed gas cylinder fill operations will be an added advantage.
- Skills and Licenses:
- A valid Code EC driver’s license with Dangerous Goods (PrDPd) certification.
- Strong computer skills, particularly in MS Excel, Outlook, and general MS Office proficiency.
- Attention to detail and accuracy are critical.
