    Role Overview: Workshop Technician – Level 2

    This role places the successful candidate at the forefront of customer interactions, making them the champion of coffee quality. From conducting operator training to performing equipment assessments and basic maintenance at customer premises, the technician ensures CIRO customers consistently enjoy high-quality coffee experiences.

    Key Responsibilities

    1. General Housekeeping

    • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the workshop, including the wash bay, power tool area, and asset spares section.
    • Perform general cleaning duties, including offloading containers and cleaning dispensing equipment according to SOPs.
    • Conduct regular tool checks and keep tool cupboards organized.

    2. Technical Duties

    • Strip, descale, and clean spare parts such as taps and boilers.
    • Reassemble spares and selected equipment.
    • Perform pre-delivery inspections and repair faulty equipment as needed.

    3. Administrative Duties

    • Complete necessary documentation, such as consumption sheets, time sheets, and tool checks.
    • Submit overtime and leave applications as required.

    4. Safety, Health, and Environment (S.H.E.) Responsibilities

    • Ensure a safe, clean, and uncluttered work area.
    • Use protective clothing and authorized tools only.
    • Assess risks associated with warehouse activities.

    5. Customer Engagement and Training

    • Conduct training visits to customer establishments, building strong relationships to retain business and enhance coffee quality.
    • Provide product training and ensure that customers use CIRO products effectively.
    • Address and escalate any coffee-related issues, ensuring compliance with quality standards.

    6. Quality Assurance

    • Conduct coffee freshness tests and taste evaluations.
    • Calibrate and program equipment for optimal coffee output.
    • Ensure customers adhere to cleaning and maintenance procedures.

    Required Knowledge and Skills

    The ideal candidate should have:

    • Basic knowledge of coffee and coffee extraction techniques.
    • Technical expertise in service and repair.
    • Intermediate electrical (220v/380v) and basic electronic knowledge.
    • Proficiency in using a multimeter with logical and methodical thinking skills.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Essential: Matric certification.
    • Preferred: N3 Electrical Engineering qualification.
    • Certification in coffee equipment and an Advanced Coffee Course Certificate are advantageous.
    • At least two years of driving experience and a valid driver’s license.
    • Availability to travel and stay overnight if necessary.
