    As an accountant at Excellerate JHI, you will play a crucial role in positioning finance as a strategic business partner.     Key Responsibilities

    1. Management Packs: Prepare and distribute comprehensive management packs containing financial reports and analyses to provide clear insights into the company’s financial performance.
    2. Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Ensure the accuracy and completeness of balance sheet accounts through regular reconciliations, maintaining the integrity of financial data.
    3. Accruals Quarterly: Manage accruals to reflect financial obligations and expenses accurately, ensuring that financial statements are a true reflection of the company’s financial position.
    4. Close Off Checks: Conduct thorough checks to ensure timely and accurate financial period closings, minimizing errors and discrepancies.
    5. Ad Hoc PM & AM Queries: Address and resolve queries from Property Managers and Asset Managers promptly and effectively, providing necessary financial support.
    6. Income Statement & Utility Reports: Compile and distribute income statements and utility reports to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and accuracy.
    7. Post Clearance Journals: Process journals to adjust accounts according to clearance requirements, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded.
    8. Assisting PM Annual Budget: Support Property Managers in the annual budget preparation and uploading onto the system, ensuring that budgets are realistic and aligned with company goals.
    9. Bank Reconciliations: Perform regular reconciliations to ensure accuracy between bank records and financial statements, safeguarding the company’s financial assets.
    10. VAT Calculations and Submissions: Manage VAT calculations and ensure timely submission in compliance with regulatory requirements, avoiding penalties and ensuring compliance.
    11. Cash Management: Oversee cash flow to ensure that liquidity needs are met and optimize cash balances, contributing to the company’s financial stability.
    12. Ad Hoc Landlord Queries: Address queries from landlords regarding financial matters, ensuring their concerns are handled professionally and efficiently.
    13. Close Off Reports: Compile and finalize detailed reports to conclude financial periods accurately, providing a clear financial overview.
    14. Contract Fees: Manage and process contract fees in accordance with agreements, ensuring that all contractual obligations are met.
    15. Loan Balancing (Monthly): Conduct monthly checks and adjustments related to loans, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial policies.
    16. Cash Summary Reports: Generate and distribute concise cash summary reports for management review, aiding in informed decision-making.

    Requirements

    To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

    • A minimum of a BCom degree with Accounting III or an equivalent qualification.
    • CPA or CA qualification (advantageous).
    • At least 3-5 years of relevant working experience in accounting or finance roles, ideally within the property management or real estate industry.
    • Proficiency in SAP and MS Office Suite, particularly Advanced Excel, Intermediate Word, and Outlook.
    • Strong organizational abilities with attention to detail.
    • Proven ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
    • Experience in complex financial analysis and reporting.
    • Thorough understanding of financial policies and procedures.
    • Familiarity with capital expenditure processes and management.
    • Proficiency in tax principles, including VAT, and their application.
    • A sound understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
