    The University of Zululand (UNIZULU) is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Administrative Officer to provide comprehensive administrative support within the Office of the Vice-Chancellor. This role requires an individual who is highly organized, capable of multitasking, and able to handle confidential information with discretion.

    Key Responsibilities

    The Administrative Officer will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the Vice-Chancellor’s office by performing the following tasks:

    • Providing full administrative and secretarial support.
    • Collaborating closely with the Executive Secretary of the Vice-Chancellor.
    • Managing administrative aspects of special projects.
    • Liaising with Faculties and Departments to gather information as required by the Vice-Chancellor.
    • Handling office supplies by overseeing stationery and equipment orders.
    • Assisting in record-keeping related to office expenditures.
    • Coordinating and documenting management team meetings.
    • Maintaining an up-to-date filing system to ensure easy access to records.

    Minimum Requirements

    To qualify for this position, candidates must meet the following requirements:

    • A minimum of Grade 12 (Matric) along with an additional certificate.
    • At least three (3) years of administrative experience, particularly in handling confidential information.

    Preferred Qualifications & Skills

    While not mandatory, the following qualifications and skills will be an added advantage:

    • Previous experience in a similar administrative role.
    • Additional computer literacy qualifications.
    • Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
    • Basic understanding of financial principles.

    The candidate must possess strong communication skills (both verbal and written), interpersonal abilities, time management, and organizational skills.
