The Manufacturing, Engineering, and Related Services Sector Education and Training Authority (merSETA) is offering an exciting opportunity for a skilled Administrator: Graphic Design & Web Content. This position is based at the Head Office on a fixed-term contract of 12 months, with a competitive salary of R25,963 per month.
This role is ideal for an individual with a strong background in graphic design, web content management, and visual communication. The successful candidate will play a key role in enhancing the organization’s branding efforts by creating visually compelling designs and updating web content.
Administrator: Graphic Design & Web Content Job Purpose
The selected candidate will work closely with the Administrator: Graphic Design & Web Content to execute various graphic design tasks, refine project drafts, and generate creative concepts. Responsibilities will include updating brochures, branding collateral, and online content to ensure effective communication through design elements such as text, graphics, and images.
Key Responsibilities
The Administrator: Graphic Design & Web Content will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Designing print and digital pages to ensure easy readability and accessibility.
- Conducting research to gather relevant facts for various projects.
- Assisting the Specialist in completing design tasks and projects.
- Preparing rough layouts for review and approval.
- Creating the final layout by compiling completed copy and artwork.
- Designing graphic content, layouts, illustrations, and infographics.
- Updating and publishing content and information on the merSETA website.
- Performing photography duties for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Reviewing and analyzing promotional material artwork to ensure it aligns with merSETA’s corporate identity.
- Reviewing external content drafts and liaising with the specialist to ensure quality control.
- Generating new graphic design concepts for merSETA branding.
- Compiling and submitting monthly, quarterly, and other reports as required.
- Providing administrative support and handling ad-hoc duties when necessary.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
Candidates must meet the following educational and professional requirements:
- A 3-year National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Graphic Design or a related field.
- A Bachelor’s degree (NQF Level 7) in Graphic Design is advantageous.
- At least 1 year of experience working in a Graphic Design role or a similar position.
