The Directorate of Student Governance and Leadership Development, within the Division of Student Affairs and Extra-Curricular Development, is seeking to appoint a dedicated and proactive individual for the role of Administrator: Student Development Practitioner. This is a permanent position based at the eMalahleni Campus.
The role is essential in ensuring the efficient administration and support of student governance, leadership, and management structures, thereby playing a vital role in fostering a thriving student development environment.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
The appointed candidate will be responsible for multiple administrative and leadership development tasks, including:
- Office Administration and Support: Provide structured support to the Student Development Practitioner, ensuring all administrative duties are effectively managed.
- Event Management: Organize and oversee various student-related events, ensuring seamless execution.
- Facilitation of Leadership Programs: Conduct Top Leadership Programmes designed to empower students with necessary leadership skills.
- Presentation of Leadership Modules: Deliver Functional Leadership Modules to students.
- Support of Recognized Student Structures: Offer guidance and assistance to officially recognized student organizations.
- Administration and Support for the Local Student Representative Council (SRC): Provide administrative backing to facilitate the operations of the SRC.
- Management of Official Information for the Central SRC (CSRC): Ensure accessibility and proper documentation of official information.
- General Administrative and Accounting Tasks: Carry out additional accounting and administrative duties as needed.
- Student Governance and Leadership Support: Maintain an efficient administrative support service to enhance student leadership structures.
Minimum Requirements
To qualify for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
1. Academic Qualifications
- NQF Level 4 Qualification (Equivalent to the National Senior Certificate – NSC).
2. Experience Requirements
- At least three (3) years of relevant experience in the student affairs environment.
- Background in administration and support to the Student Representative Council (SRC).
- Proven track record of working within student affairs, either as an employee or volunteer.
- Experience in training and facilitation skills, particularly within leadership development programs.
- Capability to facilitate Top Leadership Programmes.
- Hands-on experience in event management.
- Exposure to project management will be an added advantage.
- Demonstrated community engagement experience.
