Key Responsibilities
As the Assistant Accountant at VKB Milling, you will be integral in maintaining the accuracy of the accounting records. You’ll report directly to the Financial Manager and handle tasks such as:
- Allocating debtor and creditor accounts: Ensuring that payments and receipts are accurately reflected.
- Approving purchase and sales orders: Within a specified mandate.
- Processing transactions: Managing bank account transactions, reconciliations, and ensuring continuous accuracy.
- Reconciliation tasks: Carrying out daily bank reconciliations and maintaining control accounts.
- Month-end procedures: Preparing month-end journals, reconciliations, and submitting audit files to the Financial Manager.
- Vendor and subordinate reconciliations: Reviewing and approving reconciliations prepared by others.
- Basic reporting and analysis: Creating simple reports to assist in financial decision-making.

Requirements
To succeed in this role, you will need the following:
Educational Qualifications
- A BCom degree with Accountancy.
- Completion of SAIPA or SAICA articles.
