    Key Responsibilities of the Armed Response Officer

    As an Armed Response Officer, you will be responsible for responding to security threats quickly, ensuring that both people and property are protected. Below are some of the duties and responsibilities you will undertake in this role:

    1. Responding to Alarms: Once an alarm is triggered, it will be your responsibility to respond immediately and investigate the situation. You need to act fast to assess the scene and handle any potential dangers.
    2. Patrols: Routine patrols are essential for maintaining the security of an area. Your vigilance will be key to preventing incidents before they happen.
    3. Incident Reporting: Every incident, no matter how small, must be reported accurately to the control room. Keeping a detailed record of each event ensures that there’s a clear log of all activities.
    4. Alarm Activation and Reversion: After responding to an alarm, you must reset it and ensure that any issues are properly handled. Leaving a slip at the site to inform the property owner is also part of your duty.
    5. Vehicle Inspections: Your patrol vehicle is a critical tool in your work. It needs to be inspected regularly to ensure it is in perfect condition, both mechanically and in terms of cleanliness.
    6. Firearm Safety: You will be responsible for adhering to strict firearm procedures at all times. This is non-negotiable, as handling firearms requires the utmost care and responsibility.

    • Bilingual Communication: The ability to read and write in both English and Afrikaans is essential for clear communication with colleagues and clients.
    • PSiRA Registered (Grade B): You must have a valid Grade B PSiRA registration to be considered for this position.

    • A minimum education of Grade 10.
