Bookkeeper Job Description
As a Bookkeeper at Pedros, you will play a crucial role in managing the financial health of the company. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of financial reporting, maintaining fixed asset registers, and the entire accounting function, while adhering to financial standards and statutory regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Collate, prepare, and interpret financial reports for the management team.
- Maintain Fixed Asset Registers: Ensure the fixed asset registers are up-to-date and correctly valued.
- Accounting Function: Handle all aspects of accounting, including monthly management accounts, bank reconciliations, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Inventory Management: Perform inventory valuation and verify count sheets for accuracy.
- Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with tax regulations and statutory requirements.
- Audit Support: Assist in the audit process and ensure that financial statements are accurate and up-to-date.
- Budget Management: Monitor budgets and perform variance analysis to identify any discrepancies.
- Internal Controls: Implement and maintain internal controls and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Liaising with Operations: Work closely with the operations team to support and streamline the financial processes of the company.
Requirements
- A relevant qualification in Accounting or Finance.
- Proven experience in the full bookkeeping function, including preparing monthly management accounts, financial analysis, and commentary.
- Familiarity with financial software such as Pastel Evolution, Sage 50, Sage 200, or similar systems. Experience with these systems will be advantageous.
- Prior experience in the FMCG, Fast Food, or Retail industry is an added advantage.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) is required.
