Job Responsibilities and Key Performance Areas
As a Driver for CIRO, your role will involve much more than just driving. You will be responsible for ensuring that products and equipment are delivered in excellent condition, to the correct customers, at the right time. Additionally, your role will include:
- Stock Handling and Delivery:
- Safely loading and unloading the vehicle each day before setting out.
- Ensuring that the correct products are delivered in top condition.
- Following a pre-planned route using the Route Optimization Tool (OTR) or a trip sheet.
- Proof of Delivery and Documentation:
- Collecting and managing Proof of Delivery (POD) for every delivery.
- Accurately completing daily trip sheets and notifying management of any returned orders.
- Vehicle Maintenance and Compliance:
- Conducting daily vehicle check sheets.
- Keeping the vehicle clean and reporting any mechanical issues or accidents to management.
- Adhering to all traffic regulations and company rules to avoid penalties and fines.
- Customer-Facing Role:
- This position is customer-facing, and therefore requires someone who is professional, polite, and committed to upholding CIRO’s reputation for excellent service.
- You will be required to maintain a good relationship with customers while delivering stock in a timely and professional manner.
- General Assistance and Flexibility:
- In addition to driving duties, you must be willing to assist as a Van Assistant when required.
- Occasionally, you will need to work extended hours to meet customer demand.

- Attention to Detail: Ensuring that products are handled and delivered with care, and all necessary documentation is completed accurately.
- Time Management: Demonstrating excellent time-keeping skills and ensuring that all deliveries are made on time.
- Adherence to Safety and Compliance: Always obeying traffic regulations, company rules, and health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Problem-Solving: Being proactive in identifying and resolving any issues that may arise during your shift, whether it’s a delivery delay or vehicle malfunction.
Qualifications and Experience Required
To qualify for this Driver position at CIRO, you will need:
- A completed Matric certificate.
- A Code 10 valid driver’s license along with a valid PDP (Professional Driving Permit).
- A minimum of 5 years of professional driving experience.
- Proof of COVID-19 vaccination (fully vaccinated requirement due to the customer-facing nature of the job).
