    About the Role

    The Engineer (SCADA) position is part of the Network Management Division, under the HV Operations Department, specifically at the HV Network Control Branch.     Key Responsibilities

    The Engineer (SCADA) will be entrusted with the following key responsibilities:

    1. Strategic Input on Design and Implementation:
      • Evaluate and provide insights on design and implementation strategies for Network Information and Electronic Management Systems.
    2. Contract and Project Oversight:
      • Ensure adherence to contractual terms and conditions related to quality, cost, and timelines for electronic engineering deliverables.
    3. Technical Guidance:
      • Offer expertise and guidance on the principles, procedures, and applications for managing high-level advanced systems.
    4. Performance Execution:
      • Execute and control actions related to the Network Information and Electronic Management Systems, adhering to established engineering principles and techniques.
    5. Real-Time Operations Management:
      • Apply electronic principles to oversee and manage the real-time operational environment.
    6. Information Dissemination:
      • Share knowledge on the technical aspects of network management to ensure smooth operations.

    Qualifications and Experience

    Essential Requirements:

    • Education: Bachelor of Science (NQF Level 8) in Computer or Electronic Engineering or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Council on Higher Education.
    • Experience: At least 2 years of post-qualification experience in electricity distribution or transmission.
    • Licensing: A valid motor vehicle driver’s license.

    Preferred Requirements:

    • Experience: Ideally, 3 years of post-qualification experience in SCADA, electronic systems planning, software development, or the implementation and maintenance of such systems.

    The role offers an attractive package, including:

    • Salary Range: R932,973.00 – R1,183,859.00 per annum.
