As an Engineering Safety Officer, you’ll play a vital role in maintaining the highest safety standards while contributing to the success of this ambitious project.
Key Responsibilities
As the Engineering Safety Officer, you will oversee various safety activities and ensure compliance with mining health and safety laws. Your main responsibilities will include:
- Safety Compliance Audits:
- Auditing compliance with the Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA) and other applicable laws.
- Reviewing and enhancing internal safety systems.
- Safety Monitoring and Reporting:
- Overseeing overall safety and health performance on-site.
- Conducting regular legal compliance inspections and compiling detailed reports.
- Incident Management:
- Ensuring thorough investigation and documentation of accidents and incidents.
- Implementing corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
- Health and Safety Leadership:
- Promoting a culture of safety among employees.
- Driving awareness and education about safety protocols.
Minimum Requirements for Applicants
To qualify for the role, candidates must meet the following minimum qualifications and skills requirements:

- COMSOC 1 & 2
- SAMTRAC certification
- Trade or Blasting Certificate
