Responsibilities
As a Foundation Phase Teacher, you will play a crucial role in creating a stimulating and supportive learning environment. Your responsibilities will include:
- Academic Delivery:
- Implement a future-focused educational approach that motivates, inspires, and challenges students.
- Deliver engaging lessons tailored to the individual needs and abilities of each student.
- Academic Assessment & Reporting:
- Regularly assess and report on student progress, ensuring that each child is on track to achieve their educational goals.
- Utilize various assessment methods to gauge student understanding and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
- Student Behaviour Management:
- Promote a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere where all students feel valued and respected.
- Implement effective behaviour management strategies to foster a conducive learning environment.
- School Brand Ambassadorship:
- Represent the school positively within the community, building strong relationships with parents, guardians, and other stakeholders.
- Actively participate in school events and activities to promote the school’s values and ethos.
- Administration:
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and other relevant data.
- Ensure compliance with all school policies and procedures.
- Health & Safety:
- Uphold the highest standards of health and safety within the classroom and school premises.
- Be prepared to administer basic first aid when necessary.
Requirements
- A relevant undergraduate degree (NQF level 6) in Early Childhood Development (ECD) or B. Education (Foundation Phase).
- A Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) is required if your degree is in a related field, such as Psychology.
- South African Council for Educators (SACE) certification and police clearance.
- 2-5 years of teaching experience in a Foundation Phase setting.
- Competence in computer and digital literacy.
- Basic First Aid certification.
