Mechanic Job Description
The main purpose of this role is to carry out electrical work on security and risk items within Fidelity’s fleet of vehicles. You will be responsible for diagnosing electrical issues, performing routine maintenance, and troubleshooting vehicle security systems. The role requires a person who can work unsupervised, is skilled in handling vehicle maintenance, and has strong knowledge of various security systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose electrical issues in vehicles used by Fidelity.
- Inspect and replace wiring for vehicle security systems.
- General maintenance of the vehicle fleet, ensuring that all vehicles are in working order.
- Replace faulty locks and handle vehicle breakdowns.
- Compile paperwork for each vehicle serviced.
- Replace broken keypads and maintain all security-related hardware.
- Ensure general maintenance of security systems such as electrical fences and biometrics.
Minimum Requirements
To qualify for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Clear criminal record.
- Strong communication skills.
- Computer literacy: Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- At least 5 years’ experience in technical/maintenance work.
- Bulugaya System experience (advantageous but not required).
- Ability to work unsupervised.
- Strong knowledge of different types of vehicles.
- Familiarity with cameras, biometrics, and electrical fences.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Own transport is an advantage.
- Willingness to travel and work extended hours when required.
