Job Description
The Sales Representative in the Christian Sales Division will play a crucial role in promoting and selling a carefully curated range of Christian books each month. You will work towards achieving sales targets, growing a dedicated Christian database, and maintaining positive relationships with customers and retail outlets.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Selling and Promoting: Introducing a defined range of Christian books to customers each month and ensuring these titles are well-stocked and prominently displayed in retail outlets.
- Achieving Sales Targets: Strategically working to meet monthly and yearly sales goals.
- Relationship Building: Cultivating good relations with bookshops, attending book launches, and participating in festivals and events, even outside of regular business hours.
- Product Knowledge: Continuously expanding your understanding of the books you are promoting.
- Sales Reporting: Compiling detailed monthly sales reports to track performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Representation: Acting as a positive ambassador for Media24 and its publications.
Job Requirements
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications and skills:
- Excellent Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Relationship Building: Ability to foster positive relationships with bookshops and colleagues.
- Strong Interpersonal Skills: Proven organizational and administrative skills.
- Presentation & Selling Skills: The ability to present and sell products effectively.
- Multitasking Ability: Efficient in handling multiple tasks under pressure and meeting deadlines.
- Detail-Oriented and Creative: Keen attention to detail with creative and critical thinking skills.
- Problem Solving: Capability to address and resolve issues independently.
- Experience: Previous experience in sales and negotiation. Book retail experience is advantageous.
- Education: A Matric certificate is required. A relevant qualification will be an added benefit.
- Christian Philosophy: A strong understanding of Christian ministry and philosophy is essential.
- Driving Licence: A valid Code 08 driver’s licence and availability for travel.
- Computer Literacy: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office tools.
