    Purpose of the Job

    The End User Computing Technician will provide essential remote and onsite technical support for LAN and desktop systems. The role focuses on ensuring that client requirements are met and their expectations are exceeded through effective support of workstations and network infrastructure.

    Key Responsibility Areas

    • Technical Support: Offer first and second level LAN and desktop support.
    • Equipment Management: Install and configure new IT equipment.
    • Software Deployment: Implement, customize, and maintain remote software deployment.
    • Support Services: Assist local IT and software resources within the enterprise.
    • Advisory Services: Provide LAN and desktop advisory services to clients.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Minimum Qualifications:
      • Grade 12.
      • National Higher Certificate in IT (NQF Level 5) with A+/N+ certification (or as a separate certification).
    • Experience:
      • At least one year of corporate experience in service management or end-user support.
      • Alternatively, experience as a call center agent with 1-2 years in end-user computing services and LAN infrastructure.
      • Experience in maintaining and supporting end-user computing services and related LAN infrastructure (servers, desktops, LAN cabling, switches, etc.).

    Technical Competencies

    • Knowledge of:
      • Desktop operating systems and applications.
      • Network cabling and telephony systems.
      • Security software and hardware.
      • Technical support and maintenance of application systems, hardware, and software.
      • End-user computing and LAN infrastructure principles.
      • Internet protocols, routing, and switching technologies.
      • ITIL practices and relevant procedures, policies, and standards.
