Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Grade 9
- Physical Ability: Must be able to perform physical duties
Core Responsibilities
- Refuse Collection: Collect and remove refuse from residential, business, and industrial premises
- Litter Management: Place and remove litter bins and replace refuse bags
- Street Cleaning: Physically clean litter from sidewalks, streets, and public parking areas
- Vehicle Operation: Operate lifting and compaction controls of refuse collection vehicles
- Container Handling: Hook and empty 240 and 851 litre containers
- Spillage Management: Clean up refuse spillage during collection
- Vehicle Maintenance: Report defects on compaction units to drivers and clean/grease vehicles
- Animal Carcass Removal: Remove animal carcasses from roads, houses, and veterinary clinics
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) regulations
