Key Responsibilities
The Sports Co-Ordinator will undertake various responsibilities essential to the management and development of the school’s sports offerings. Key duties include:
- Sports Programme Oversight: Effectively managing the sports program across grades, ensuring a structured, well-organized, and engaging experience for all students.
- Event Coordination: Organising sports events, including official league matches, interhouse competitions, and other internal events, making sure these run smoothly and engage students and the wider school community.
- Coaching and Mentorship: Actively coaching students in multiple sporting disciplines, developing their skills and promoting teamwork and healthy competition.
- Stakeholder Communication: Regularly liaising with parents, students, and campus visitors, fostering strong relationships within the school community.
- Equipment Management: Overseeing sports equipment inventory, including budgeting, purchasing, and maintenance, ensuring students have access to the necessary resources.
- Team Management: Supervising a team of sports coaches, ensuring they are well-coordinated and aligned with the school’s sports program objectives.
- Physical Education Teaching: Teaching Physical Education classes from Grade 1 to Grade 7, creating a positive learning environment where students can develop their physical skills.

Qualifications
The role requires a minimum of a recognized degree or diploma in Sports Management or a teaching qualification with Physical Education as a completed subject. While not mandatory, SACE (South African Council for Educators) registration would be considered advantageous.
Experience
Candidates should have a minimum of three years of experience in a similar position, preferably in an educational environment. Experience in coaching various sports and organizing sporting events is essential, providing the candidate with the practical knowledge necessary to excel in this role.
